From a Simple Idea
to a Growing Journey.

EncountersWorld started with me simply enjoying wildlife, taking pictures, and wanting to see what I could find whenever I went outside. At first, there was no big plan behind it. I just enjoyed being outside, seeing different animals, and having a camera with me so I could capture the encounters I came across.

The cardinal shown here was one of my first wildlife photos and the first species I documented, taken with the same camera you can see in the picture. Looking back at it now, that photo represents such a simple beginning to something that would eventually become much bigger.

From there, I started exploring more, photographing more species, and eventually had the idea to create a place where I could learn about every species I personally documented and share that knowledge with other people.

The more time went on, the more I wanted to discover. Every species is different, with something unique to discover about it. I wanted to experience that firsthand — to actually see these species in person, observe them in the real world, learn about what I had just encountered, and then take what I learned and share it with others.

That process became one of the things that motivated me most. Every new encounter gave me another reason to keep going, another species to learn about, and another experience I wanted to remember.

Eventually, I started thinking beyond wildlife alone. Whenever I was outside looking for animals, I was also surrounded by plants, habitats, tracks, bones, and other signs of the natural world. I realized I did not want EncountersWorld to stop at animals.

I wanted to learn about and document everything I came across — from animals and plants to bones discovered along hiking trails. The more I explored, the more I realized how much there was to learn right in front of me.

There is a kind of peace I get from being in nature that I cannot replace with anything else. Exploring, finding something I had never seen before, photographing it, learning about it, and adding it to the journey became something I genuinely wanted to build my life around.

What started as a hobby gradually became a much bigger goal. The original EncountersWorld website was simple, but the idea behind it was already there: create one place where I could document what I found, learn from each encounter, and share that knowledge with other people.

During my lifetime, I want to personally document as many species and parts of the natural world as I can. But I also want EncountersWorld to grow beyond my own encounters.

My goal is to build not only an educational platform, but a community where anyone can participate — sharing their own observations, documenting what they discover, learning from one another, and helping build a growing record of the natural world.

I want EncountersWorld to keep expanding into a large educational platform built around real encounters, real observations, and the idea that there is always something new to discover.
